William Vickerman: TiVo is basically a video recorder. It records everything you watch (last 60 minutes) so you can rewind and see a replay. You can also tell it to schedule your favorite shows and movies. Unfortunately, TiVo DOES NOT work with DirecTV. You have to have cable, such as Comcast or Time Warner in order to use it. There are ways to get it kind of work with DirecTV, but it is seriously not worth the trouble. The monthly payments are around $15-17, but less if you pre-pay. Stick with your DirecTV box and sell the TiVo on eBay..or give it away as a gift....Show more
