What are some fun card games?

Carolin Southers: the yugioh tcg?

Robbie Starchman: well try yugioh whenI wacth my friend play I like it!

Jonie Lauria: OK, with all the myths you might need an open mind for this one. Did you know that tarot cards were invented for card games? They were created in the 15th century, commissioned by the Duke of Milan as part of the celebrations for his daughter, Bianca Visconti's, marriage into the Sforza family. They extra cards took as their theme a traditional Christian triumph procession of the time, hence they were called trionfi, meaning triumphs, and from which we get our word trump. It was the invention of tarot that marked the invention of trumps in card games.Today, most countries in Europe use French suited tarot cards to play the games - you probably wouldn't recognize them as tarot at all. However, the old Italian trumps are still used to play games in Italy, Sicily, and Switzerland.Tarot is a family of point-trick games. This means that, like brid! ge, whist, or spades, you win cards in tricks - however, unlike them, cards have different point values, so it is not the number of tricks you take that matters but the number of card points in them. The games range from the very simple (Scarto) to the very sophisticated such as ottocento that could give bridge a run for it's money! However, they are all, for the most part, quite easy to learn. The most played is the French game (if you have Hoyle's Card Games 2005 edition, you can play it on your computer) which is the second most popular card game in France. You can find Anglicized rules here:http://www.tarocchino.comAnd rules with their original language terms here:http://www.pagat.com...Show more
