Idell Mulliniks: A secret clearance is less than a top secret. Just because you may be denied a top secret clearance does not mean you will be denied a secret clearance. There's a big difference between the two.For example, when I joined the Navy back in the 80's, I qualified for a job that I would have needed a top secret clearance for. But I knew I couldn't get it since I had prior use of LSD on my record.
