Norris Rosener: My current car is a 2003 Hyundai santa fe I bought it in 2015 for $4,500 and it currently has 166,000 miles on it
Josefine Weekey: What you need to decide is whether you really want to get into car payments or just fix your present vehicle. I spent $2000 to repair cooling system problems on my 01 Ranger because there was no way I could buy another small pickup in as good a shape for the price of the repairs.

Valentine Michaud: Thing to consider is if the vehicle is in oth! erwise good condition. If you spend $1000 can you reasonably expect it to run for the next 12 months? If so then $1000 isn't a lot to spend for 12 months maintenance. It's a lot cheaper then the deposit + interest on a newer car. And if you buy another older vehicle, it could develop similar faults next month.
Marquetta Gimm: How much is the resale value for the car? What's the overall condition of the car? If this is an old beater vehicle, you shouldn't be owning it unless you are doing the repairs yourself. If I had a car in reasonably good condition and emissions parts start failing after 8 years (the usual length of emissions component warranties), that's where the $100/month I set aside for maintenance comes in. With used vehicles of the same price, manufacturer, and vintage, I'd rather know exactly what's wrong with a vehicle instead of buying something else and finding out again....Show more
Heidi Creselious: If you paid $2-3k for the car it might be a g! ood idea to buy another one for the same price. If you paid mo! re than any $4k for the car, just suck it up and fix it. Financing usually pays more in the long run so its usually better to just fix the vehicle.
Byron Fortmann: depends how old you are and if you have good credit. you can lease a lower end car for maybe 100 a month or buy a used one for 5-6000. A nice one actually
Clifford Riggleman: looks like some one gave you the business with that car, you paid to much the most I would pay is 1000 for that car, what state are you in and how old are you? next time get you a Honda Toyota or Nissan. about parts look like they also charging you to much for labor you can change the air sensor your self its very simple can and get Idea on you tube. also with does parts not working properly, I believe you can still run it like that, so don't fix it. and if you fix it sell it and get you better brand cash, I would not finance but if you do, don't take that car as a trade in the dealer you wont give you nothing....Show more
! Fred Caminita: Have you had several quotes and confirmation of the diagnosis? How much is the car worth and how long is it going to last?
Whitney Saborido: In some states you can bypass the converter with a short tube/pipe.
